Day 5--Picture Post

Today we weeded in several fields near the Nozomi center. This morning an elderly couple saw us working and asked what was up. Yui asked if we could help them in their garden, and so we spent the afternoon picking glass shards, plastic, rocks, and various tsunami leftovers out of the tilled earth.
We returned to the Nozomi center, bathed, and then some of us went shopping. Now we're all chilling and enjoying air conditioning.

Here are pictures!
Ed, Ben, and JB taking a break after weeding for a couple hours at Hayasaka-san and Mito-sans' fields.

Amanda and Jesse.

Talking to the owners.

Joe hard at work.

Jesse looking pained.

Neighbours. I love Japanese home and garden aesthetics.

Yui and Cal conversing.

A cat I spotted tonight waiting patiently in a car at the drug store.

The Japanese have interesting construction props. Last year it was winking teal frogs. Why not pink bunnies?

A bad picture of some of our gentlemen. Ken, Joe, and Ben.

Driving back from the grocery and drug stores.

The moon and some rice fields. Japan is so beautiful.

Watanabi-san has basically set up headquarters here with us. He's not a christian, but he still loves hanging out with us and is a lot of fun and we love having him here.

He is teasing Yui, who is oblivious and looking over the karaoke selections.

He's coached for the Japan paralympics team and wanted a picture of his shirt.

The end.
